tellus fabulas : (Latin) roughly translates to earth stories
My name is Mychelle, and I am a mixed media sculpture artist who has learned primarily through experimentation and mentorship. I incorporate clay and scavenged bits found in nature and around town. Working from a narrative base, each series I create tells a story based on the natural world observed around me. I am especially attracted to themes of kinship and interrelatedness, and I am concerned about the damage that humans are perpetrating on our wild friends. For me, creating is a way of advocating while also working through my internal landscape.
